Vajpayee was born on 25th December 1924 at Gwalior. His father’s name was Krishna Bihari Vajpayee and mother Krishna Devi. His father, Krishna Bihari Vajpayee, was the great Kvi of his gaon and a schoolmaster.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji had taken education from the government Secondary School of Golaid village of Bara Golaid in Gwalior. Later, he went to Gwalior Victoria College (Now Lakshmi Bai College) to get education and passed the Hindi, English and Sanskrit. He completed his post graduation in Political Science from Dayanand Anglo-Vedic College, Kanpur in M.A. He was also honoured with first class degree.

He started doing political work from the Arya Kumar Sabha in Gwalior, he was considered to be the youth power of the Arya Samaj at that time and became his general secretary in 1944.

Like a volunteer in 1939, he joined the National Volunteer Association (RSS). And influenced by Babasaheb Apte, he trained in the Darmian RSS training camp of 1940-44 and became the full-time worker of the RSS in 1947.

Because of the spread of the seeds of division, they left the law in the middle. And as a preacher, he was sent to Uttar Pradesh and soon he started working with Deen Dayal Upadhyay for newspapers like Rashi (Hindi monthly), Panchjanya (Hindi weekly) and Dainik Swadesh and Veer Arjun.

During atalji’s tenure, India became a nuclear power-rich nation. He made several efforts to resolve the Kashmir dispute with Pakistan, enhance bilateral trade and brotherhood. But after a 13-month term, his government came to minority with just one vote in the wake of political conspiracy.

Atal Bihari Vajpayee Death

India’s great statesman Atal Bihari Vajpayee ji breathed his last in Delhi’s AIIMS hospital on August 16, 2018.

The cause of his death is said to be a severe infection in urine, chest and kidney. They were very sick in the last days of their lives. In the year 2009, he was also a victim of brain stroke, which also had a profound impact on his thinking power, and he had been suffering from a disease called dementia.

His death was a wave of grief all over India. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also paid homage to him and president Ram Nath Kovind announced a national mourning of about 7 days on his demise.

For seven days, in honour of Atal Ji and to pay homage to him, the country’s flag was half-bowed and all the employees working in the central government office were also given half-day leave.

In addition, governments of several states had also declared state mourning. While the Himachal government discharged the schools in its state for 2 days.
